President - Laurie
Andrew, Laurie's second child, born with a unilateral cleft lip and palate, changed her life forever. She felt an intense need for a support group in the Charleston area to address the needs of other parents who also faced the mental, physical, and emotional challenges of a cleft-affected child.
Vice President - Heather
Heather is the mother of two children, Amanda and Kyle. Kyle was born with a bilateral cleft lip and palate. She also invented and patented a brand new pediatric arm restraint for children who have cleft surgeries, called SnuggleWraps. She has a generous heart, always willing to help others who are going through the same thing that she has experienced with her son.
Chief Financial Officer - Ric
Ric is a cleft-affected adult, who is a magnificent asset to our group. It is very encouraging for parents of a newborn to see a grown man, also born with a cleft, who enjoys a very normal life, has a good job, and has a wonderful attitude. Ric's desire is to help others who will have to undergo the same treatment he faced as a child. Ric has a BS degree in Accounting and fourteen years of experience in that field. He is also the Chairman of the Supervisory Committee for a local credit union.
